Commercial All-access License
Effective October 9, 2026
This Commercial All-access License (the “License”) is granted by Axiomancer Labs (“Axiom”, “we”, “us”) to the business or individual that buys an Axiom Codex All-access subscription (“Customer”, “you”). It applies together with the Terms of Service. If they conflict about how you may use Licensed Data, this License controls. A separate written agreement signed by us controls over both to the extent it says so.
1. Definitions
- Licensed Data: the dataset packages we deliver to you under your subscription, including normalized or reformatted copies of their records. The All-access plan covers every commercially licensed Axiom Codex dataset family listed on the site. Today these are POI Intelligence (derived from Overture Maps Places), LEHD Workplace Jobs (derived from U.S. Census LEHD LODES Workplace Area Characteristics) and Permit Signals (City of Seattle and City of Los Angeles building permits). Each package’s coverage, version and dates are stated in its release manifest.
- Derived Products: models, analytics, reports, aggregates, visualizations, scores, applications and other works you create using Licensed Data that do not expose the Licensed Data in bulk or allow a substantial part of it to be reconstructed.
- Upstream Terms: the licenses, notices and source conditions that apply to third-party data within the Licensed Data, shipped with each package.
2. License grant
While your subscription is active and paid, and subject to this License, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to store, copy, query, analyze and modify the Licensed Data, and to use it:
- for internal business and research purposes;
- to train, fine-tune and evaluate models;
- to create, use, sell and deliver Derived Products, including client deliverables, subject to the Upstream Terms.
Your employees and contractors may use the Licensed Data only for your work and under confidentiality and use restrictions at least as protective as this License. You are responsible for their compliance.
3. Competing-dataset restriction
You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense or publish the Licensed Data, or any dataset derived from it, as a data product that competes with Axiom Codex. You may not make the Licensed Data available to third parties in bulk, for example as downloadable files, a data feed or an API that returns its records. Internal use, models, analytics and products that do not expose the data in bulk are permitted.
Upstream rights are not reduced. These restrictions apply only to rights Axiom can lawfully control. They do not remove public-domain freedoms or restrict rights that an upstream licensor grants you directly. In particular, data licensed under CC-BY-4.0 remains available to you on CC-BY-4.0 terms from its original source.
4. Upstream source terms and attribution
Upstream Terms stay attached to their data and ship with each package; a link on this page does not replace the license and notice files delivered with a package. When you share Licensed Data or Derived Products to the extent this License allows, keep the supplied source identifiers, source URLs, notices and modification statements, and do not imply endorsement by any upstream provider.
City of Seattle building permits
Seattle dataset 76t5-zqzris published under the City of Seattle’s open data policy. Credit the source, version and modifications, for example:
Source: City of Seattle open data portal. Dataset: 76t5-zqzr; snapshot as stated in the package manifest. Modified by Axiomancer Labs through normalization, filtering and H3 derivation.
Retain each record’s source_uri.
City of Los Angeles building permits
Los Angeles dataset d9aa-v8bm is licensed under CC-BY-4.0with the designated credit “LADBS”:
LADBS — Los Angeles building permit data, dataset d9aa-v8bm. Licensed under CC-BY-4.0. Modified by Axiomancer Labs through normalization, filtering and H3 derivation.
Accompany that credit with links to the source dataset and the license. Keep supplied creator, copyright, license, disclaimer and source notices, identify your changes, and remove attribution if the licensor asks, where reasonably practicable.
U.S. Census Bureau LEHD LODES
Workplace Area Characteristics data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau’s LEHD Origin-Destination Employment Statistics. Cite the Census Bureau as the source of the original data, with the year, release, vintage and source files stated in the package manifest, and note that the data was normalized by Axiomancer Labs. Analytical conclusions are your responsibility.
Overture Maps Places
Overture Places data is licensed by contributing source, not uniformly. See Overture’s attribution and licensing.
- CDLA-Permissive-2.0 contributions: include the complete license text when you share the data, including modified data.
- Foursquare (Apache-2.0) contributions: include the complete Apache-2.0 license, mark modified files, and include the entire Foursquare NOTICEunchanged, with any change statement added separately. Preserve Overture’s attribution and earlier modification statement as supplied.
- AllThePlaces (CC0-1.0) contributions: no attribution condition applies; the source and dedication are listed in the package.
Packages ship CDLA-Permissive-2.0.txt, Apache-2.0.txt and FOURSQUARE-NOTICE.txt where they apply.
5. Privacy restrictions
Public availability does not make data anonymous. Place listings may include sole-trader names and home businesses, and permit records may include contractor business names associated with individuals. You must not use the Licensed Data to identify, profile, track or contact individuals, or to make employment, credit, housing or insurance decisions about them. You are responsible for complying with privacy law in your use of the Licensed Data. We do not guarantee that any data is anonymized.
6. Delivery and license keys
After payment we email a license key to the checkout email address. Packages are delivered on request when you reply to that email. They are versioned, dated snapshots; new releases follow as each family is refreshed, and new commercially licensed families are added at no extra cost. Keep your license key confidential.
7. Corrections and takedowns
Send correction, privacy or removal requests to support@axiomcodex.io, with the package version, the affected record identifiers and the reason. Please do not include more personal information than needed. We will review each request and may correct, withdraw or replace affected data, or withdraw a family if an upstream license change or a legal requirement makes that necessary. Where we notify you of a correction or removal that is legally required, you must apply it to your copies of the Licensed Data.
8. Term and termination
This License starts when your subscription starts and lasts while it remains active and paid. It ends when your subscription ends, including after a cancellation at the end of the paid billing period. We may terminate it if you materially breach this License or the Terms and do not cure the breach within 30 days after we notify you.
When this License ends, you must stop using the Licensed Data and delete your copies of it, except copies you are required by law to keep. Derived Products you created while the License was active may continue to be used if they do not contain or expose the Licensed Data in bulk. Rights you hold directly under Upstream Terms or in public-domain data are not affected.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The Licensed Data is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, freshness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Source snapshots and statistical estimates are not verified individual outcomes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Axiom will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or data, however caused. Axiom’s total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to this License or the Licensed Data is limited to the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in this License excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
11. Changes to this License
We may update this License. We will post the new version on this page with its effective date and, for material changes, email paying customers at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
12. Governing law and venue
This License is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in California have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to this License.
